Homemade macaroni Casserole.
*This is the epitome of comfort food for me. My mom created this recipe to use up leftover spaghetti meat sauce.
2 lbs of ground meat *turkey or beef
1 jar of spaghetti sauce. *whatever kind you like.
1 lb of elbows
2 cups of Mozzarella cheese
1/2 to 2 cups of heavy whipping cream. *I am French, so the more cream, the better. If you’re thinking health wise, 1/2 cup is enough to make the taste pop.
and some Parmesan cheese.
Best thing, is to make the spaghetti meat sauce another night. So that to actually make the dinner, all you need to do is boil the elbows and add the sauce, cream, and cheese.
I actually made the ground beef on Sunday because Monday is the busiest at my job, and I included the spaghetti sauce. I put it in the fridge overnight.
When I got home, all I had to do was boil the elbows, and mix everything in the pot after draining the water.
I mixed in the cream, spaghetti meat sauce, mozzarella, a little Parmesan, and cream into the pot. I lined a casserole dish with aluminum foil, and popped it into a 350 degree oven for thirty minutes. Or until bubbling and brown.
The best thing about this recipe, it has tons of leftovers!!
And it heats up great the next day.
